Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Star Leslie Bibb Answers Our Burning GCB Questions

Perfectly timed to coincide with this weekend’s Easter celebrations, ABC has scheduled a special treat for fans of GCB: A double dose! In anticipation of which, theTVaddict.com recently had the pleasure of catching up with star Leslie Bibb, who was only too happy to submit to a bunch of our burning questions. See for yourself, after the jump.

Last Sunday’s episode saw the addition of the delightful Eric Winter as a potential love interest for your character Amanda. Is he going to be sticking around?
Leslie Bibb: Well, maybe… perhaps… it’s a good one. Bobby really winds that through. Actually you’re going to freak out, because in the last episode you’re going to be like, “WHAT… just happened?!” Eric Winter’s great, he’s lovely and Amanda’s love life is about to get really interesting. I would love to tell you more and I hate to give these sheepish answers, but [creator] Bobby Harling will kill me. He’s so adamant amount not giving plot points away.

Which brings us to a second question you probably won’t be able to answer! Recently, the writers seemed to have made a point to reveal that Amanda had actually seen the body of her dead husband. Was that the show’s way of going on record that he really is dead?
Yeah, that’s for sure. I think that’s something that the writers were toying with originally [bringing Amanda’s husband back from the “dead”] and they still sort of leave it open. But I think they were concerned about going down a certain crazy road, like now we’re in an episode of… or the board game “Clue”.

Do you think there will ever be a time when Carlene (Kristin Chenoweth) and Amanda might bury the hatchet?
One of the episodes on Sunday is called the “Sex Episode,” which is actually based on a sermon that Bobby Harling heard in his Church in Louisiana and ever since he heard the sermon he was like, that is going to be a part of something I write. And there’s a real moment where you see Carlene and Amanda align, but they can never align too much, because while the characters are very similar both of them thinks they’re nothing like that other person.

Another relationship that’s become somewhat of a fan favorite is the friendship between Amanda and Blake. Is that something we can expect to see more of?
I hope so. It’s the hardest thing when you have such a big cast and so many stories to tell. We sort of shot the first 10 episodes in a vacuum and now that they’re airing you start to see what people gravitate towards and I hope if we come back that’s something that gets explored more because people really do love that relationship. I’ll send Bobby an email!

GCB is the type of show has shocking season finale written all over it. Is the upcoming first season finale one that will demand a second season so that audiences might find out what happens next?
I think so. I know from when we were shooting it, Bobby held the last scene so we didn’t even get it until we were at the table read. I remember when Bobby handed me the pages, I read them and my mouth was on the floor like “Oh My Gosh!” First of all, it’s one of the best written scenes, it’s like a scene from a movie, so beautiful, so amazing, such a great scene that for sure fans are going to asking for a second season to find out what happens next.

GCB airs Sundays at 10PM on ABC (CTV in Canada).
