COMMUNITY Season Four Gets a Premiere Date, Plus NBC Unveils Plans For 2013

Question: What’s the only upside to 30 ROCK ending its Emmy award-winning run later this year following a 13-episode seventh season? Answer: The void left by the unfortunate demise of Tina Fey’s celebrated laughter will be filled by none other than COMMUNITY. At least according to Greendale Human Being Yvette Nicole Brown, who just tweeted, “Guys, #Community officially has an air date: Thursday, February 7th at 8pm!”

Oh, and did we mention that the Peacock [Network] Shuffle does not end there? Following in Fox’s footsteps, NBC is announcing a bevy of changes to their Winter/Spring 2013 lineup. See for yourself, after the jump.

In the dramatic department, DECEPTION (formerly INFAMOUS) will premiere on Monday January 7th at 10PM, replacing REVOLUTION which won’t return to the schedule until Monday March 25th, while SMASH dances back onto the schedule on February 5 (feat. Jennifer Hudson), replacing the 13-episode fourth season of PARENTHOOD which will end its run in January. On the comedic front, Josh Gad’s 1600 PENN will replace PARKS AND RECREATION starting Thursday January 10th at 9:30PM which shifts down to 8:30PM following COMMUNITY, giving UP ALL NIGHT time to retool for its multi-cam return in the spring. And finally, in the world of reality, THE VOICE kicks off its fourth cycle on March 25/26, THE BIGGEST LOSWER weighs in on January 6/7 (feat. the return of host Jillian Michaels), while CELEBRITY APPRENTICE and BETTY WHITE’S OFF THEIR ROCKERS return on March 3 and January 8th respectively.

Shows still waiting to hear where they fit on the schedule include HANNIBAL, DO NO HARM and SAVE ME. Also noticeably absent from NBC’s 2013 plans our CHICAGO FIRE, GUYS WITH KIDS, WHITNEY and LAW & ORDER: SVU. More as the story develops…
