Comic Con 2013: Why TV Addicts Should Be Particularly Excited About This Summer’s Annual Pilgrimage to San Diego

Five weeks away and with attendee badges in scarce supply, this year’s San Diego Comic-Con is about to take off.  Soon the press releases announcing everything from exclusive memorabilia and one of a kind collector’s items to the hottest movies/TV shows hosting panels will be popping up across the internet.

It’s not all about just the 4-day star-studded event anymore; it is about the anticipation that builds in the weeks preceding, as fans salivate at the prospect of acquiring exclusives and catching a glimpse of their favorite stars.  San Diego Comic-Con is the oldest reigning fan event, dating back over 30 years – and if there is one thing they have mastered it is the art of building anticipation.

Here at theTVaddict.com we are already massively excited about the prospective TV panels at Comic-Con that will be gracing the hallowed halls of the San Diego Convention Center this year:

Undoubtedly there will be more TV shows added in the weeks to come, but a few that we are particularly excited about include the new network TV shows just greenlit for the 2013-2014 television season.  In case you have not seen the sizzle reels for the new shows this Fall, here’s a peek:

We are also hopeful that the new shows ORPHAN BLACK and VIKINGS make appearances this year.  Here’s recent preview videos for each, just in case you weren’t already in love with these shows!

Finally, we have our fingers crossed that returning to San Diego Comic-Con this year will be faves, such as:  DOCTOR WHO, ONCE UPON A TIME, TEEN WOLF, LOST GIRL, ELEMENTARY, BEAUTY & THE BEAST, SUPERNATURAL, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, NIKITA, and WAREHOUSE 13.

While last year’s Comic-Con hosted panels for the 10 year anniversary for FIREFLY and the final appearance by the cast of FRINGE, both memorable highlights of the 2012 SDCC event, this year promises to hold a few more highly anticipated panels, one for the new VERONICA MARS movie (currently in production) and another for the 50th anniversary celebration for DOCTOR WHO.

So as more information about what TV shows will be making appearances and hosting panels at this year’s Comic-Con becomes available, start prioritizing your “must see” shows and events so that you do not miss out on something spectacular.  It pays to not only get excited and join in the anticipatory fun, but to have a flexible, yet strategic schedule in mind for spectacular 4-day event.

See you at Comic-Con!
