Seers, Shield Maidens and More at the VIKINGS Party at San Diego Comic-Con!

Hot on the heels of its successful first season and in celebration of its second season, History Channel hosted a star-studded party for its cast with featured sponsor the Wired Cafe at San Diego Comic-Con.  With elaborate costumes, scenery and an authentic looking Seer stalking amongst the party goers, the party was wall to wall fun.  There was a vast feast spread out in the middle and a nonstop flow of libations.  With paparazzi circling around, it was fun to see who would be next accosted by the Seer or who would venture up in the bowls of the Viking ship for a quick photo or two.  The more adventuresome partiers embraced all the trappings and joined in the festivities gung-ho.

Once the stars of VIKINGS made their appearance the party was in full swing.  Stars Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick, Clive Standen and Gustaf Skarsgard happily posed with eager fans and smiled with amusement at the Seer walking amongst their party.  Everyone had reason to be gleeful with VIKINGS shattering record ratings for the History Channel and becoming one of the most talked about new shows of the year.

With the support of the Wired Cafe and the lush accoutrements provided by the History Channel, as well as the high energy of everyone in attendance, the elite party at the Omni Hotel in San Diego was the place to be on steamy Friday night.  Music throbbing, lights flashing and beaming smiles, the night continued until virtually everyone was exhausted from too much partying.  But it it better to have enjoyed everything to its fullest than to have not celebrated at all.  It was a special night for cast, fans and friends.  Such a treat for the Comic-Con attendees and special guests — not to mention the party swag of Mophies for everyone!

VIKINGS is currently amidst filming its second season and is scheduled to air in early 2014 on the History Channel.  Be on the look out for more adventures of Ragnar, Lagertha, Athelstan, Rollo and Floki as co-creator and writer Michael Hirst throws them in the raging waters of history and the passions of man in those heady times. ‘Til next year!
