KILLER WOMEN Video Preview: Star Tricia Helfer Introduces Her Guns-A-Blazing Texas Ranger Series

The new ABC drama series KILLER WOMEN delves into the fast-paced world of women driven to kill. Based on the Argentinian television series, which showcased real women and real crimes, KILLER WOMEN takes a more fictionalized approach to the tales of women driven over the edge. The series stars Tricia Helfer as Molly Parker, a Texas Ranger recruited specially to track this unique brand of criminals and bring them to justice.

In an exclusive video interview, Tricia talked about what she loves about KILLER WOMEN, the fascinating diversity explored into the psyches of the women, and fun of the working with her former BATTLESTAR GALACTICA co-star Michael Trucco again.

From the interview, Tricia laughingly revealed that when her friends found out that she was starring in a show called KILLER WOMEN, they all naturally assumed that she would be playing the villain, and she is delighted to surprise everyone by getting the chance to play the hero this time.

When she first read the script, Tricia was immediately drawn to how fun, sexy and action-oriented the show is. She feels KILLER WOMEN has a “Kill Bill” flair, but that it is more grounded in reality like the series JUSTIFIED, a show which she would happily love to do a cross-over with one day. For those wondering, there are just as many bullets flying about as the action ramps up on KILLER WOMEN.

Tricia described KILLER WOMEN as a fun, energized, action-filled police procedural as they track down a specific killer in each episode. It is also a show, which empowers women by portraying them as strong women with strong relationships and motives to kill. Whether suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, spousal abuse, or simply a serial killer in the making, the reasons why women kill are distinct and intriguing.

As for getting the chance to work with her former co-star Michael Trucco, Tricia is just thrilled to work with someone she feels so close and comfortable with again. In KILLER WOMEN, Tricia and Michael portray siblings, and that familial relationship was easy to tap into on screen as Michael is one of her closest friends since their time with BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. (Michael was just as happy to be in working with Tricia, which you can see in tomorrow’s interview.)

In eight episodes beginning on January 7th, KILLER WOMEN shall showcase one woman a week before unveiling an even bigger mystery in the finale. To see what explosive stories and action KILLER WOMEN has in store, be sure to tune in Tuesday nights, starting January 7th, at 10PM on ABC.

(Editor’s note: Special thanks goes to ABC Television which made this interview possible with a sponsored trip to the set of KILLER WOMEN.)
