We Shine the Spotlight on THE THUNDERMANS Star Addison Riecke

I spoke with the adorable and extremely talented star of THE THUNDERMANS, Addison Riecke. I spoke with Riecke about her audition for the role of Nora, her plans for the future, and her wonderful work with numerous charities.

You’re so young and you star on a hit Nickelodeon show. How do you balance everything going on right now?
Addison Riecke: It’s a lot of fun and I love going back to Louisiana and coming back here. (California) We spend a lot of time on set and on the weekends we like to go to the beach because it’s such nice weather. It’s a lot of fun and it’s not that challenging to manage.

Do you think acting is something you’ll want to pursue when you’re older?
I think acting is definitely something I want to do when I’m older. I just started out and am very new to the business; I’m very lucky and blessed that I got a TV show. In the future I would love to work on a feature film maybe. I would definitely want to continue my acting career and see what I could do later in my life.

Your character has some awesome super powers. If you could have super powers in real life which powers would you want?
I think it would be teleportation or shape shifting. Teleportation because you could be anywhere in a second and you wouldn’t have to deal with traffic and all of that kind of stuff, you could just be there in the blink of an eye. Shape shifting would be a lot of fun too because you could be a lot of objects or animals.

Do you have a favorite scene or line from this season?
My favorite line that I’ve done in the whole show is in the first episode where I say, “dance, dance I say.” Because the first time I read the script I thought that was so funny and I loved it and I thought my character was going to be awesome.

How was your audition?
I auditioned for the role in September or 2012. I had been on a few TV show auditions and I thought to myself I’m probably not going to get this, but it’s going to be a lot of fun auditioning. It went on and on and we went to the producer’s callback and the network testing. And I was like this is going really well I didn’t think I would make it this far, and then I booked it and I was so excited.

What can you tell us about tonight’s finale?
The episode is called “Breaking Dad” Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) gets a B from her old teacher and she doesn’t want a B so our dad becomes the teacher and some crazy things happen. With Nora and our mom some squirrels get in our house and we have to deal with that, so it gets really exciting.

You do a lot of work with charities! What can you tell us about those charities?
I raised over $4,000 for the Oklahoma tornado victims last year. In January for my tenth birthday instead of having my friends bring gifts to my party we made valentines gifts and brought them to the children at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. I continue to visit the kids there; on Easter I brought the kids Easter gifts. I think it’s really important to give back, we are all really lucky and it makes me very happy to see all of these kids happy and I’m glad to help any way that I can.
