WITCHES OF EAST END Preview: Season 2 Brews Up Two New Dark Forces

witches of east end season 2

Having cast a spell over viewers last season, Lifetime’s drama series WITCHES OF EAST END returns with more sexy, sinister and suspicious newcomers in Season 2. Starring Julia Ormond, Rachel Boston, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Madchen Amick as the Beauchamps, a family of powerful witches, WITCHES OF EAST END picks up right where Season 1 left off — after the portal door to Asgard had been opened and quickly closed — but not before something very dark and foreboding had passed through.

In addition, Johanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond), still suffering from the argentium poison that Penelope injected her with in the Season 1 finale, and Victor (Joel Gretsch) and Wendy (Madchen Amick) are trying every spell and healing potion they can come up with to save her life.

Unfortunately, that leaves Ingrid (Rachel Boston) and Freya (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) on their own as they are still learning to use their newfound powers. Worse yet, Dash (Eric Winter) seething with rage over Freya’s betrayal and uncertain of his new abilities is looking for any way he can to share his pain with everyone around him, and the last thing he wants to talk about is what he may or may not have done to his brother Killian (Daniel DiTomasso).

So Season 2 comes back strong with more than one life in jeopardy and the Beauchamp witchy-secret seems to not such a big secret anymore with the entire family dabbling every chance they can get — not to mention, Dash who is still unaware of the extent of his warlock abilities and how to control them. It is hardly any wonder that Hudson Rafferty (Tom Lenk) keeps pestering Ingrid to do another spell after the success of her fertility spell last season.

One of the new faces this season is Frederick Beauchamp (Christian Cooke), Johanna’s long lost son who was finally able to cross-over from Asgard. Wendy is immediately suspicious of Frederick and her natural feline-instincts tell her that there is a lot more going on with him than he is telling everyone. Wendy can just feel in her bones that something very evil crossed over and yet she cannot quite pinpoint whether it is Frederick, masking his true intentions.

Life in Fair Haven is about to get a lot more exciting and dangerous with so many witches and warlocks in town. Plus, the second Dash figures out how to use his powers is going to be a turning point. Will Dash become Freya’s prophesied destroyer or will his love prevent his festering anger get the best of him? And just where is Killian? Did Dash actually kill his brother or is Killian lying low after their big blow up over Freya? With everyone preoccupied with Johanna’s grave illness, Wendy’s hair-raising warnings of a dark presence in town, Ingrid preoccupied with a possible job change, and Freya freaking out over her dire dreams of Killian, no one is really paying attention to Dash. That just may be to everyone’s detriment.

Watch carefully as Season 2 returns to see if you can spot the true danger amongst them all. It is going to surprise you.

WITCHES OF EAST END returns Sunday, July 6th at 9:00 p.m. on Lifetime.
