What’s that? Is that Dr. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) doing the opening voiceover? It is!
This episode was all about Dr. Pierce*, and I must say it was a nice change of pace. McCreary was really great on Emily Owens M.D. and didn’t get the praise she deserved due to its short-lived run.
We saw a lot of similarities between her and Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.) like how they both do crosswords and how they both get a long great with Dr. Bailey. (Chandra Wilson)
During this episode Pierce managed to mess up everything she possibly could. Ruining Karev’s (Justin Chambers) job at the private practice, (even though we all knew he was going to leave) forgetting Wilson’s (Camilla Luddington) name, and completely pissing off Meredith (Ellen Pompeo)…..again.
Not all was bad for Dr. Pierce during this episode though; she was serenaded by a man in an outrageous costume paid for by her parents, she also found the cause of the McNeils cardio issues, ending Dr. Yang’s (Sandra Oh) case.
Her feud with Meredith continued throughout the episode. Ending with a confession from Pierce about her birth mother. Meredith didn’t take the news well; in fact she fires back at Pierce and thinks she is lying.
Next week we will hopefully learn more about Pierce’s adopted family (Please let us meet her family, Shonda) and hopefully Meredith will ease up on her and at least try to get to know her.
* Author’s Note: Can we all agree that Dr.Pierce is pretty awesome. Kelly McCreary is fantastic and I truly see her having a great future on the show and a lot of great storylines in the future.
