Catching Up with MASTERCHEF JUNIOR finalist Abby Major

How adorable is MASTERCHEF JUNIOR finalist Abby Major?

She loves jellybeans (who doesn’t?), hates missing school and spends her free time helping animals.

“I just started an elephant and rhino protection club,” she revealed in an exclusive interview with TheTVPage.com.

“I made the sign up sheet this morning so it is kind of a new one. We are going to raise awareness about elephants and rhinos by maybe doing some bake sales and other fundraisers.”

The fourth grader from Winchester, Virginia is among the six young cooks still competing in chef Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen

“I have been in the kitchen my whole entire life, but I really got into cooking when I started watching cooking shows [on TV],” she says. CHOPPED was always my favorite show to watch.”

Here’s a few more fun tidbits Abby shared about herself:

* She’s a big sister
“I have a brother named Thomas and a sister named Finley. I am the oldest.”

* If Abby could cook dinner for any celebrity (living or dead) it would be…American scientist George Washington Carver.
“I would make Thai peanut noodles. I would pick George Washington Carver because we are learning about him in school and peanuts are a really big part of Virginia.”

* If she were president, every Tuesday would be national “Ice Cream Day”

* She doesn’t get an allowance.
“But if I did, I would probably save all my money for college.”

* Her bedtime is at 7:00 PM — but she sometimes gets in trouble for staying up until after 9:00 PM reading.
“I really don’t keep track of the time”
