The aftermath of Joe Carroll can still be felt one year later as a new group of killers begins to torture innocent people in the opener of the third season of The Following. FOX invited journalists on set to get a glimpse of the first two episodes of the new season, along with a tour of the set to really help you get a feel for the show.
With every season of The Following, comes a new storyline full of twists and turns, murders, and blood. This season begins one year later with Carroll (James Purefoy) in maximum security being held on death row. Agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) seems to be living a nice happy life as he appears to smiling for the first time since the show began. However, it’s only a matter of time before someone steps in to ruin it all.
With Mark Gray (Sam Underwood) still on the loose, it doesn’t take long before random acts of violence begin bringing the group back together, Max Hardy (Jessica Stroup) and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore). The first two episodes will literally blow your mind, have you squirming in your seat, and yelling at the television screaming ‘what is going on!’
“This season is unlike anything we have ever done before,” said Ashmore in an interview at the FOX event. “This time we are trying to find killers that we don’t know. The first season was all about Joe Carroll, the second about his followers. This one, is just about plain mystery. It’s the unknown and sometimes that could be the scariest of it all.”
