Is Agent May departing Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Season 3? Actress Ming-Na Wen is hinting at such. After the HYDRA reveal in the first season and the introduction of the Inhumans in Season 2, it seems May isn’t entirely sure that her heart lies with S.H.I.E.L.D. any longer.
TVGuide got the chance to sit down with Wen to discuss her future on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Wen told TVGuide:
“In any situation when someone is so devoted to their work as May was, but then realizing over the last two years that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t really what she dedicated her life to. That there was definitely a lot of corruption to S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as uncertainty now with the Inhumans being brought in by Coulson. It’s going to be figuring out her final decision in Season 3 and I think Andrew will probably play a part in it.”
The events of Season 2 brought May and her estranged husband, Andrew Garner (Blair Underwood), back together. These events also brought Garner back to S.H.I.E.L.D., an agency he had left on poor terms. Will May leave S.H.I.E.L.D. and if she does, what does that mean for her relationship with Andrew?
