Today’s TV Addict Top 5: New Fall Shows We’re Buzzing About

With the new Fall television season kicking off this week, we thought now would be as good a time as any to spotlight five of our favorite pilots that you may wish to consider setting your DVR (or if you’re in Canada, PVR!) for.

BLINDSPOT
From the moment the tattoo-covered-naked-body of star Jaimie Alexander was first introduced to us TV Addicts, the world has been buzzing about BLINDSPOT. A buzz that has only gotten stronger over the summer thanks to creator Martin Gero’s (LA COMPLEX) ridiculously intriguing premise: An very attractive woman wakes up in a duffle bag with a number of tattoos all over her body and has absolutely no idea who she is. Coupled with an easy-to-follow episodic conceit: Aformentioned woman solves crimes with thanks to clues hidden within her tattooed body while at the same time realizing she may-or-may-not be some sort of super agent who can speak multiple languages and kick everyone’s butt! (Airs Mondays at 10PM on NBC)

SUPER GIRL
Is there such a thing as too many superhero shows? There may be, but we sure as heck aren’t about to draw the line at this new entry from the the gifted storytellers behind ARROW and THE FLASH (Greg Berlanti and Co.) In fact, the only question surrounding SUPER GIRL is how the show will fare on the older-skewing Tiffany Network (CBS) versus Berlanti’s traditional home that is The CW. (Premieres Monday October 26 at 8:30PM on CBS)

THE GRINDER
Despite its not-very-google-friendly-title, THE GRINDER was one of our most enjoyable surprises of the screener-palooza that was this past month. Rob Lowe and Fred Savage are completely believable as brothers and have the kind of chemistry you just can’t fake. We only wish THE MINDY PROJECT were still airing on FOX so we could fill our Tuesday with back-to-back-to-back comedies. (Premieres Tuesday September 29 at 8PM on FOX)

QUANTICO
If you hear a faint beating in the background while you’re reading this, it’s our heart… which hasn’t stopped racing since viewing the adrenaline fueled pilot. Like last season’s big ratings winner HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, QUANTICO uses a similar flashback style to uncover the mystery surrounding one of the biggest attacks on New York City since 9/11. Unlike HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, you’ll actually care and be rooting for the young group of FBI trainees that the show revolves around! (Premieres Sunday September 27 at 10PM on ABC)

CODE BLACK
If you’ve been missing your weekly dose of medical jargon since the good-ol-days of ER, or your weekly dose of Marcia Gay Harden since the dearly departed TROPHY WIFE (Seriously, still not over it), you won’t want to miss this Harden top-lined medical drama. (Premieres Wednesday September 30 at 10PM on CBS)
