SHERLOCK Victorian Special Episode Preview: The Ghosts of the Past

SHERLOCK fans have to wait an eternity for season 4 (and after that season 3 cliffhanger!), but a Victoria-era special will be airing at some point between now and the new season and the BBC has finally released a full length preview for it.

The point of the special episode was to take the original style of Arthur Conan Doyle’s books and transplant it onto the screen. “It’s SHERLOCK as you know it, but in the correct era,” EP Steven Moffat said at Comic-Con. He also said that the special is one of the best episodes they’ve ever made. And while Moffat has remained tight-lipped on how ghosts factor into the episode, he did say “it has to be a standalone special, we have to make it [stand] on its own.” At Comic-Con fans were also treated to a sneak peek of the episode, which we’ve also included below.

Unfortunately, the preview didn’t offer an air date for the SHERLOCK special, but once the date is known it will air on BBC One in the UK and PBS Masterpiece in North America.
