The return of Iris’ mother to Central City forced the West family to confront their past in the most recent episode of THE FLASH. There’s also a flirtation developing between Barry and newcomer Patty Spivot and Cisco’s visions are still an issue. During a recent visit to the set of THE FLASH in Vancouver, Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Carlos Valdes and Teddy Sears sat down to discuss the events of the most recent episode and tease what’s to come. You can watch the videos below for all of the details, but here’s a few tidbits:
The West Family. Iris’ reaction to learning the truth about her mother may have surprised some fans of THE FLASH. Instead of being furious that her father had kept this big secret from her, she was understanding about his reasons. But Iris isn’t sure she wants to meet her mother and open this can of worms about her past, according to Candice.
The Stein and Cisco Mentor-Mentee Relationship. Carlos thinks that the developing friendship between Cisco and Stein is a terrific thing and that they’re able to geek out together despite the age difference between then.
The Barry-Patty Relationship. It’s a nice spot of light in Barry’s otherwise heavy life. “It’s kind of effortless,” Grant teases.
Cisco’s Visions. Cisco will continue to have visions and they’re frightening to him. “Things get a little more crazy, more visions start happening,” Carlos warns. “Things get a lot more complicated and Cisco has to come to terms with what’s happening to him. And that’s his biggest struggle at this point in the season.”
The Search for the New Firestorm. Stein is having serious withdrawal from not having a connection to his Firestorm double. Fortunately, the team has a few options to help him, although, “things don’t go as smoothly as everyone would like them to go,” Grant teases.
Brotherly Relationship. Now that Jay has chosen to remain on Earth-1, he and Barry are going to have an older brother-younger brother relationship.
