NCIS Sneak Peeks: Tainted Love

Devotion to career is hard on relationships, and the team at NCIS is no exception.  Gibbs (Mark Harmon) with his three ex-wives and one deceased is a perfect example of the toll.

NCIS Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) lost his beloved wife, Jackie, to gunfire because of his job.  (Carroll also directed tonight’s episode.)

McGee (Sean Murray) and Delilah (recurring guest star, Margo Harshman) are going through the hurdles of a couple who must compromise before moving in together.  Ducky (David McCallum) holds onto an unrequited love from decades ago.

DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) has lost more than one woman he loved because of the job (which may change with the impending return of Scottie Thompson as Dr. Jeanne Benoit, daughter of arms dealer, René Benoit, aka La Grenouille).

Not all love has to be sacrificed for a career.  Abby (Pauley Perrette) is in the midst of a relationship with Park Police Sergeant, Burt Moore, and Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) seems to have found a way to keep his marriage intact.

But NCIS Probationary Agent Ellie Bishop (Emily Wickersham) is not having the same good fortune.  Once a happily married woman, Ellie was an NSA agent who shared the perfect “NSA life” with her handsome husband NSA attorney, Jake Malloy (recurring guest star Jamie Bamber), and they talked shop and protected the world and each other.

Then, Ellie transferred to NCIS.  The confidential shoptalk stopped and the couple’s relationship has deteriorated slowly.  Even a surprise anniversary trip was derailed because of work.

Tonight, there is a chance that the marriage is over.  Ellie sees video of Jake’s hotel in Dubai in shambles after a terrorist bombing.

During this chaos of relationship drama and some Halloween hijinks, the team must investigate the sniper shooting of a petty officer.  The M.O. matches the work of a local serial killer, but some of the evidence leads the NCIS team to believe that it may be the work of a copycat.  Some of the clues are just a little too perfect.

Tonight’s episode, “Viral,” was written by Jennifer Corbett and also guest stars Kelli Williams, Gregory Harrison, Brad Benedict, Alisha Boe, Kelly Frye, Ryan Kennedy, Makabe Ganey, Melissa Greenspan, Andrew Hawkes and Dante Swain.

NCIS airs on October 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
