Back in 2009, Soderbergh released THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE, a film starring Sasha Grey as an in-demand, high-priced call girl. Soderbergh will soon be bringing the series to Starz as an anthology show.
THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE follows a woman named Christine Reade (Riley Keough), a second year law student who is also a new intern at the prestigious firm of Kirkland & Allen. But her focus at work and at school is soon distracted when she meets a classmate who introduces her to the world of “transactional relationships”. Her classmate and other girls like her provide what’s known as “the girlfriend experience” for wealthy men — emotional and sexual relationships that come at a high price.
THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE will debut its 13 episode first season in 2016.
