SHADES OF BLUE Preview: Jennifer Lopez Stars in a New Police Drama

Jennifer Lopez is coming to television in a gritty new police drama for NBC called SHADES OF BLUE and the singer/actress took to Facebook today to share a preview for the show.

Lopez stars as Harlee Santos, a single mother and resourceful detective who works for Lt. Matt Wozniak (Ray Liotta). Both Wozniak and Santos aren’t afraid to step outside the limitations of the law to protect their own. But soon the FBI catches Harlee in the act and pits her against her own unit.

As a newly turned informant, Harlee tries to protect her on-the-job family and her own daughter. Wozniak, now aware that one of his own has become an informant, is on the hunt for the leak. Pressure mounts as the crew struggles to perform their brand of street justice under FBI watch.

“We’re so excited to have locked in a premiere date and can’t wait to show audiences what Jennifer and the rest of this incredible cast delivers in this compelling new drama series,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “Jennifer’s role as Det. Santos is a tour de force. She carries herself with incredible grit and toughness, yet at the same time heartbreaking vulnerability. We are thrilled that NBC is the network to bring this iconic actress and star to series television.”

SHADES OF BLUE premieres on Thursday, January 14 at 9 p.m. with a special two-hour episode and then moves to its regular 10:00 p.m. timeslot on January 21 on NBC.
