We met Claire in the series premiere of FLESH AND BONE, a troubled young girl desperate to escape her home life who traveled to New York and was accepted at the American Ballet Academy. Her raw talent impressed Paul, ABC’s Artistic Director, but it’s starting to alienate the other dancers in the company. And at the end of the pilot we learned a terrible truth: there is something disturbing taking place between Claire and her brother, Bryan.
In this week’s episode, Claire tries to sever ties with her brother, Bryan, who makes his way to New York to see her again. As she attempts to embrace her new life, she finds unwanted male attention at every turn. For example, one of ABC’s main benefactors is enamoured with her and Paul sets her up with a “business dinner” that’s really code for “prostitution” in the hopes of satisfying this donor. Meanwhile, the company brings in a new choreographer to help rejuvenate ABC’s failing image and to give Claire a worthy show for her talent. We’ll also be seeing Kiira, ABC’s prima ballerina, asserting her position in the face of Claire’s rising star.
