Last week’s episode of SUPERGIRL, “Livewire,” was switched with tonight’s out of sensitivies regarding the events in Paris, so viewers should keep that in perspective if the timeline looks a bit off.
While James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) had become a couple (again) on last week’s “Livewire” episode, tonight will furnish the explanation. James already has stated that there was “nothing he wouldn’t do for that woman” with regard to Lucy.
Despite his and Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) obvious attraction to each other, it appears as though he still may be a little too in love with Lois Lane’s sister to give up on their relationship…yet.
Also, that unexpected kiss on Kara’s cheek from Winn (Jeremy Jordan) or the reveal that his father (assumedly Toymaker, aka Winslow Schott) is in prison also will not have “happened” yet in tonight’s episode, so expect their relationship to be a step earlier in its progression.
Thirdly, the revelation that Kara’s foster father, Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain) volunteered to work for Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) to save Kara is still unknown to Alex (Chyler Leigh) and SUPERGIRL on tonight’s show.
So, now that everyone temporarly has “unlearned” what they learned last week, what is in store for SUPERGIRL this evening?
Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), probably a little less sympathetic than last week, will foist her son, Carter (Levi Miller), onto Kara making babysitting part of her assistant’s duties.
While that violates Human Resources rules in most companies, it has much larger ramifications for National City. Facing a series of bombings, SUPERGIRL’s attentions need to be focused on stopping the perpetrators instead of watching Cat’s son.
She may get a hand from an unexpected source, billionaire entrepreneur Maxwell Lord (recurring guest star Peter Facinelli) whose penchant for inventions could come in handy.
Happy (belated) birthdays to Calista Flockhart (November 11) and Jeremy Jordan (November 20), and a little scoop…a new character will be on the canvas soon…Adam Foster. Foster will be portrayed by Benoist’s fellow GLEE alum, Blake Jenner, her real-life husband.
