NCIS: NEW ORLEANS Sneak Peeks: Wind of Remembrance

Tonight on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, the team revisits the horror of Hurricane Katrina.

For those unaware of the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, here are a few facts.  Winds blew at 140 miles per hour.  Massive flooding accompanied the hurricane, and the roaring water breached the levees.  Hundreds of thousands of people were driven from their homes in the states along the Gulf.

Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana were devastated.  New Orleans, in particular, was shattered as it is surrounded by water and much of the city’s elevation is 6 feet below sea level.

Although the city has been recovering due to the tenacity of its citizens, there are areas like parts of the 9th Ward that still have a long road to recovery.  But the tragic loss of life will continue to bring a collective sadness to Crescent City residents.

Those sad memories get a fictional tribute tonight on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS.  Now a decade after Katrina, Pride (Scott Bakula) and Lasalle (Lucas Black) uncover new evidence from the first murder case that they worked as partners.

A Marine is murdered, and the investigation uncovers clues that track back to Dwayne and Christopher’s original case from 10 year ago.  They had been investigating right before the storm made landfall, but the walls of water washed away the evidence.

On a lighter note, the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS team takes time away from crime to celebrate Thanksgiving at Dwayne’s bar, and it looks like Scott Bakula will be playing piano!

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS also stars Zoe McLellan, Rob Kerkovich, Shalita Grant, Daryl ‘Chill’ Mitchell and CCH Pounder.

Guest stars on tonight’s episode, “Billy and the Kid,” are Alexandra Metz, Christopher Berry, Kenneth Brown, Bowie Hamilton, Patrick Reginald Walker, Ninja Devoe, Amy Grasse and Donald Link.  “Billy and the Kid” was written by Sam Humphrey and directed by Mary Lou Belli.

NCIS: NEW ORLEANS airs tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
