SUPERSTORE Sneak Peeks: Meet the Employees of NBC’s New Comedy

America Ferrera is returning to TV this winter in SUPERSTORE, a behind-the-scenes comedic look at life and work in a big box store. Jonah makes a rough impression on Cloud 9’s floor manager Amy on his first day and draws the romantic interest of assistant manager Dina, who doesn’t know when to take a hint. Throughout the pilot you’ll meet a slew of zany characters.

Amy (America Ferrera): Amy has worked at Cloud 9 for ten years and Ferrera describes her “as a veteran of this life, so she’s not surprised by very much”. Jonah’s idealistic nature annoys Amy, who doesn’t like her veteran views to be challenged by new blood.

Jonah (Ben Feldman): Feldman describes his character as “a little snobby. He’s kind of this funny combination of bright [and] intelligent and a complete idiot. Everything [in the pilot] is sort of through the lens of his first day.”

Garrett (Colton Dunn): Garrett works in customer service and “is not a fan of customers,” says Dunn. “Garrett’s a fun guy. He is a wheelchair, but that’s probably like the eighth thing you’d think of after you met Garrett. He is all over the place. He’s the kind of guy that you’d love to be stuck at work with.”

Dina (Lauren Ash): As the assistant manager Dina is “very by the book. She’s very meticulous,” explains Ash. “Rules are the most important thing and rules are there to be followed, otherwise they wouldn’t be there. She takes her job very seriously. Probably more seriously than anyone else in the store.”

Glenn (Mark McKinney): “Glenn wants to be top dog but he’s really not built for it,” says McKinney. “He’s the manager of the store and he’s also religious and he’s always trying to dispense wisdom and advice that nobody really wants to take.”

Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom): Cheyenne is a pregnant high school student. “She’s kind of like the wide-eyed, still really optimistic person working in the store. She’s not as jaded about the nature of work or the nature of people,” teases Bloom.

Mateo (Nico Santos): It’s also Mateo’s first day on the job when SUPERSTORE begins, but he couldn’t be more different than Jonah. Santos says that Mateo is “a very ambitious employee at the store and he’ll stop at nothing to get what he wants. [He feels] threatened by [Jonah], so any chance he gets he is throwing him…actually, he throws everybody under the bus. His heart’s in the right place. He’s definitely a good worker and he knows his job. But not the most ethical person, I would say.”

Don’t miss a special one-hour preview of SUPERSTORE on November 30 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. The show will officially premiere on Monday, January 4 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
