Jake, Gina and Charles were hostages who acted like John McClane in the winter finale of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, but Charles alone is going to be a hostage again when the show returns on Tuesdays with all new episodes. And this time he’s a hostage to his ex-wife, metaphorically speaking.
Here’s what’s to come in this week’s all new BROOKLYN NINE-NINE episode:
Wanting to be a Papa. Charles and Genevieve (guest star Mary Lynn Rajskub) want to take their relationship to a new level: the level of being parents together. Unfortunately, Charles had a horrible — but hilarious — accident years before that has rendered him sterile. But it turns out that he had had a vasectomy before the accident and had frozen several sperm before getting the procedure. Enter Charles’ ex-wife, Eleanor (guest star Kathryn Hahn), who isn’t eager to give up her own claim to his sperm, since they were married when he had it frozen.
48 Hours. It turns out that Charles’ ex-wife is a complete shrew and she and Charles are horrible around each other. But when she found out that he had wanted to withdraw his sperm from the storage facility she took it to blackmail him. She wants him to use his badge to help her out in exchange for the sperm and gives him 48 hours to comply. Will Charles break the law in order to become a father? Jake sees it as a hostage situation and is determined to help his friend “bring his boys home.”
Gina the Cop. Holt and Rosa are interrogating a suspect and getting nowhere. And while Holt’s initial plan is to scare the perp with the horrors of the judicial system’s bureaucracy, the perp cracks and agrees to talk…but only to Gina. Except Rosa and Holt aren’t exactly fond of Gina’s unusual style. And it turns out that there’s a very specific reason the perp wanted to chat with Gina.
Sucking Up. Amy agrees to take one of Terry’s self-defence classes so she can suck up to him and convince him to write her a letter of recommendation for a mentorship program. But she breaks his nose with a poorly-time kick in the first few moments of the class and he isn’t feeling very generous about her after that. But is he upset enough to sabotage her chances of getting into the program?
