CHICAGO FIRE Sneak Peek: Will Herman Survive?

After the excruciating winter hiatus, CHICAGO FIRE is back, and with crossover action with CHICAGO MED, it looks like Tuesday’s episode will be as gripping as ever. CHICAGO FIRE left viewers in shock when Freddie (Cruz’s most recent charity case) stabbed Herman in the gut and fled the scene. Picking up where it left off, the episode finds one of the most beloved Fireman in 51 bleeding out on the floor of Molly’s. When Dawson and Ottis find him, an ambulance is immediately called, but the question is: Will it be too late?

The sneak peeks also give viewers a glimpse into CHICAGO MED, and how the doctors over there deal with the daily medical traumas coming through their door. This week, it happens to coincide with two CHICAGO FIRE related cases. The first, obviously, is Herman, and the doctors do their best despite the fact that that he has severe bleeding due to the blade perforating his liver and kidney. With Herman’s wife standing by, with the whole House in support, the doctors reveal they will continue to try everything they can, but if the bleeding doesn’t stop with a second surgery…they don’t know if he will make it.

The second medical case is brought in after Firehouse 51 gets a call about a gas-leak fire started in a residential apartment building. With several victims being brought out, one in particular is thought to have inhaled the gas and is being treated as a possible suicide when she is brought into the hospital. On top of that, Cruz is having trouble breathing after the rescue, and with persistent coughing, is ordered to ride along in the ambulance for a doctor to check out as well.

With so many lives on the line, this is not an episode you want to miss. Catch CHICAGO FIRE on Tuesday Jan 5, 2016 at a special time of 9:00 PM ET/PT on NBC.
