Immigration…a hot-button issue in the Presidential debates, around the dinner table, and the focus of tonight’s NCIS: NEW ORLEANS.
When Petty Officer 2nd Class Mateo Ortega (Natan Cruz) takes a header off an overpass and crashes down on a car, the NOLA team is called in to determine if the young immigrant’s death was murder or suicide.
The body smells like Bourbon, too strong to miss. Was that the purpose?
Is Ortega’s death a result of gang violence or foul play? Was it staged or was he overwhelmed enough to commit suicide? Why is there a holding area of undocumented immigrants found under a trapdoor in the floorboards?
Meanwhile, Lasalle (Lucas Black) and Patton (Daryl “Chill” Mitchell) foray into a possible disaster by posting a dating profile for Pride (Scott Bakula) on NolaMingle.com, a local dating site. (Don’t bother looking it up. The website goes to an error page.)
On a “real life” note, Mardi Gras season is underway in the Big Easy, and the cast of NCIS: NEW ORLEANS will be marching in the Chewbacchus Parade on Saturday, January 30 at 7pm, if you plan to be in the area.
The sci-fi themed parade (a combo of STAR WARS’s Chewbacca and Bacchus, the Roman god of wine) is a great fit for the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS stars, many of whom have sci-fi experience: Bakula, (QUANTUM LEAP), Black (AMERICAN GOTHIC), Mitchell (GALAXY QUEST), CCH Pounder (WAREHOUSE 13), Zoe McLellan (STAR TREK: VOYAGER, SLIDERS) and Rob Kerkovich (CLOVERFIELD).
NCIS: NEW ORLEANS also stars Shalita Grant and guest stars Brian McNamara, DALLAS’s Marlene Forté, Max Arciniega, Andrene Ward-Hammond, Dayana Rincon, Melissa Collado, Lidia Porto, Karmen Capella, Jabari Thomas, Clint James, John Bostic, Cassie Hernandez, Ricky Catter and Jonathan Ralph Fritschi.
