SUPERGIRL Sneak Peeks: White Or Green Or Just Plain Mean?

There are at least three main types of Martians…Yellow Martians, White Martians and Green Martians.  SUPERGIRL’s J’onn J’onnz, the Martian Manhunter, aka Hank Henshaw of the DEO (David Harewood), is green.

The Green Martians are peaceful, while the White Martians are warriors with a subset, the Hyperclan, that has vowed to conquer Earth.  Most have superhuman abilities including super-speed, super-strength or the ability to shapeshift, as do many of the races spawned from original Martians, including Jemm, seen last month.

When Senator Miranda Crane (guest star Tawny Cypress) campaigns on an anti-alien platform, a White Martian attacks to show the politician that spiteful words do not trump superpowers.

SUPERGIRL (Melissa Benoist) must fly into action when the Senator is kidnapped, and Hank is forced to face his painful life before Earth…a time when the White Martians wiped out his peace-loving Green Martians on their home planet.

Meanwhile, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) declares her own kind of war on a defecting reporter via her new corporate attorney, Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum), and Lucy’s fiancé, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), puts himself on the hotseat with Cat by insisting on covering the Senator’s story.

Also caught up in drama with Cat is her estranged elder son, Adam, (played by Benoist’s former GLEE co-star and real-life husband, Blake Jenner).  Kara tries to intervene and convince Adam to give his mom another chance, but defeating the White Martian may be an easier task.

SUPERGIRL also stars Chyler Leigh and Jeremy Jordan.  Other guest stars in tonight’s episode, “Strange Visitor From Another Planet,” are Frank Maharajh, Rebekeh Salgado, Rudy Marquez and Jasmine Alveran.

“Strange Visitor From Another Planet” was written by Michael Grassi and Caitlin Parrish and directed by Glen Winter.

SUPERGIRL airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
