CHICAGO FIRE is all new this week and it looks like Chili will be facing some repercussions from her almost-fatal mistakes last week. After pushing the wrong medication a patient’s heart stopped, and although Brett was able to revive the girl, Chili still has to face Chief Boyden and his decision about the event.
Viewers were given insight into a possible explanation for Chili’s behavior. The final moments of last week’s episode revealed that a body was found by Chicago PD just a few weeks ago — and that body was Chili’s sister. Now the erratic behavior, her showing up late, and pushing the wrong meds makes more sense given that Chili has been dealing with this loss without the knowledge of her colleagues.
But as the sneak peek below shows, Chili is not heeding Boyden’s advice to lay low and clear her head. Even after a poignant story about his own loss — and coming back to work too soon following that loss — she insists she is fine. With that statement, Boyden then gives her a warning, and a very serious one at that. One more mistake, and Chili is done not just at 51, but in all of Chicago.
