Dr. Choi may be keeping a secret on next week’s CHICAGO MED that will have him going to Dr. Charles after they are confronted with a new patient.
While many of the doctors are dealing with their own issues — from disobeyed do not resuscitate orders to curious homeless men — Dr. Choi finds himself tending to a bi-polar patient, Olivia, who treats with lithium. Though she has been able to treat her condition on her own, her dependency on the drug could very well kill her as the doctors put her on dialysis.
Dr. Charles comes in for the consultation and sheds some light on Olivia’s bi-polar condition and not so subtly confronts Dr. Choi with the question of how closely he’s dealt with bi-polar disorder. His reaction may confirm that there’s more to the simple denial than he’s letting on.
Though the CHICAGO MED doctors may have their hands full, there’s one among them that is dealing with some larger life-threatening issues.
