NCIS: LOS ANGELES Sneak Peek: Finally!! G Whiz!!

After seven years, tonight finally answers the big question for NCIS: LOS ANGELES…what the G in “G Callen” is.

Callen (Chris O’Donnell), Sam (LL Cool J) and Anna (guest star Bar Paly) head to Russia to break CIA agent Balinski/Randall Sharov (guest star Savlator Xuereb) out of prison.  At least, that is the official goal of the operation.

The other reason the trio is headed to Moscow is to extract Anna’s father, Arkady Kolcheck (guest star Vyto Ruginis) from the same prison.

They are planning a ruse that involves an ambulance, the opiate hydromorphone, and Vlad Lukov (guest star Zack Sayenko).  Not only have they never broken into a Russian prison before, they are attempting this narrowly-sanctioned mission with no backup.  Balinski aka Sharov is the only prisoner officially slated for rescue.

But Callen has a soft spot for Arkady, and Arkady may or may not have information that will lead Callen to his first name, his family history, his Romani background and the truth about his father.  Rumors of the death of Callen’s father may have been exaggerated.

Granger (Miguel Ferrer) questions Hetty’s (Linda Hunt) decision to send Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) on another dangerous operation…a field assignment with Beale (Barrett Foa).

Last time Eric Beale worked a mission outside of Ops, he almost got shot and barely survived a panic attack.  Hopefully, all of his recent training will yield a better result.

Tonight’s episode concludes the “Matryoshka” two-parter and was written by producers Kyle Harimoto and R. Scott Gemmill, which was directed by Terrence O’Hara.   (Matryoshka nesting dolls are seen on the table in the photo above.)

NCIS: LOS ANGELES also stars Renée Felice Smith, and guest stars Daniel J. Travanti, David S. Lee, Jonno Roberts, Jeremy Brandt, Ward Roberts and Alexander Chernyshev.

NCIS: LOS ANGELES airs tonight at 9:59 p.m. on CBS in the U.S. and Global TV in Canada.
