ONCE UPON A TIME 100th Episode Teasers: A Closer Look at the Underworld

I know, ONCE UPON A TIME fans. It has been a very, very long hiatus. After all, the ABC fairytale hit show left us with one hell of a cliffhanger back in December. Emma turned Killian into a Dark One in order to save him and, once the secret hit the fan, he was less than pleased about it, to say the least. Those were dark times for Captain Swan fans and even darker times seemed to be ahead when Killian sacrificed himself later on to save Emma – and she was the one who ran him through with Excalibur in order to end all darkness. I know my heart was shattered into a million pieces for these two, and hope seemed to be all but lost because Killian was dead.

But then…

Emma started hearing the dagger again. It turns out that Rumplestiltskin had found a loophole and turned Excalibur into a conduit. So when Emma killed Killian, the darkness went straight to Rumple, who is once again the Dark One – this time, more powerful than ever – and he is fooling Belle yet again. Emma, however, uses that to her advantage and blackmails him into taking them to the Underworld to rescue Killian.

And that’s exactly where we pick up when the mid-season premiere starts. The TV Addict has already watched the 100th episode of ONCE UPON A TIME and we have a few teasers we can share with you about this Sunday’s episode.

Neal is back. I have always been a Neal fan – even though I am a hardcore Captain Swan girl – and it was just so good to see him again. I can’t reveal details about how his return comes about or how that affects Emma, but it was such a bittersweet moment, so touching, and it left me completely emotional.

The Underworld is a dark, dark place. But there are even worse places to be when it comes to this realm. Trust me. And with the introduction of a new big bad – along with the reappearance of old enemies – I am willing to bet rescuing Hook will not be the easiest task in the world.

Emma is relentless. When everything tells them that they should get out of there while they still can, she is more than willing to send everyone home and face the Underworld all by herself. She is not going to give up until she finds Killian and brings him back to Storybrooke safe and sound – and with one half of her heart. Captain Swan fans, buckle up – we are in for one hell of a ride.

Regina seeks forgiveness. As we all know, the Underworld is a place where the souls of people who have died, but still have unfinished business to come to terms with, stay trapped. Think of it as some kind of limbo realm, where most people the Evil Queen has ever betrayed, murdered or both are stuck in. When she shows up, well, there is no shortage of people who want to settle a score with her. But there is one person in particular that Regina seeks forgiveness from, and that journey is beautiful with an even more emotional ending.

To get a taste of the Evil Queen in all her glory – and on her birthday no less – take a look at the sneak peek below.

Don’t miss the 100th episode of ONCE UPON A TIME on March 6  at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
