Phil’s brother made it safely to earth in last week’s THE LAST MAN ON EARTH. After surviving an encounter with another survivor who was more than happy to live alone on the sea rather than try to find other people, Mike Miller headed off to Tucson after seeing one of Phil’s old signs.
This week, the action is focused again on the characters back in Malibu. Phil 2 has passed away and the gang is seeking closure after losing a member of their small group. Cue a good old fashioned Viking funeral, complete with a flaming burial and cremation out at sea (or, at least, an attempted flaming cremation at sea).
Meanwhile, Phil tells Carol that Todd and Gail are sleeping together and Carol wants to tell Melissa, but Phil convinces her to keep quiet. We suspect that plan will go down the drain quickly. And Phil tries to convince Erica that he can act as the father of her baby now that Phil 2 is gone.
