PREACHER to Premiere on AMC in May

The new Dominic Cooper-led AMC series, PREACHER, is going to premiere on Sunday, May 22 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, leading out of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD’s midseason final.

The pilot will encore twice on Sunday, May 29 (during Memorial Day weekend) and then new episodes will resume Sunday, June 5 at 9:00 p.m. (which is the show’s regular time slot).

PREACHER is based on the comic book franchise of the same name as stars Cooper as Jesse Custer, a West Texas preacher who is inhabited by a mysterious entity. Along with his ex-girlfriend Tulip and a vagabond named Cassidy, Custer must navigate through a world populated by characters from Heaven, Hell and in between.

“We’re thrilled to finally be sharing this epic story with characters unlike any other on television,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV. “Sam Catlin, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have brought Garth’s writing and Steve’s artistry to life in the most gratifying way possible. Fans of the comic book and fans of just great television have a lot to look forward to as they’ll travel on an unforgettable journey and watch in unison as the craziness unfolds.”
