The lyrics go, “Bad girls. Talking ‘bout bad girls,” and tonight, SUPERGIRL gets to join the ranks of the Bad Girls.
Viewers have learned that being exposed to Kryptonite (the green variety) weakens or kills natives of the planet Krypton, from which they both originated.
Some may not have seen what happens to a Kryptonian who comes in contact with Red Kryptonite, however. Exposure generally results in some sort of personality change (like putting Tom Welling in a leather jacket and on a motorcycle on SMALLVILLE).
When Kara is exposed to the red meteor rock, a few things happen. Like Welling, Kara (Melissa Benoist) starts to dress better. She has a boost in her step and a competitive edge sharp enough to take out a Silver Banshee, aka Siobhan Smythe (Italia Ricci).
Her attitude adjustment has both bosses, Hank (David Harewood) and Cat (Calista Flockhart) on the receiving end of her temperament modification.
Seeing that she is SUPERGIRL, she actually gets to express the “overworked and underpaid” thought that most people have, plus she grabs the chance to snipe back at her backstabbing co-worker.
There is a lot of workplace drama in tonight’s episode, “Falling.” Hank seems to be getting his crush on with Senator Miranda Crane (Tawny Cypress) and James (Mehcad Brooks) and Lucy (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) call it quits before he has a chance to explain that Kara is SUPERGIRL…not the kind of information that a jealous ex should have.
And the ladies who specialize in information, the cast of CBS’s THE TALK, gather ‘round the table with Cat to discuss her relationship with SUPERGIRL. Heads up, Cat…you may be the CatCo media mogul, but Julie Chen is married to the president of CBS. (Hi, Les!)
SUPERGIRL also stars Chyler Leigh and Jeremy Jordan. Recurring tonight are Peter Facinelli and Briana Venskus, with other guest stars Kitana Turnbull, Kylierae Condon and Dan Warner.
In addition to Chen, the women of THE TALK appearing as themselves are Aisha Tyler, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood.
“Falling” was written by Robert Rovner & Jessica Queller and directed by Larry Teng.
