The Jason Reitman comedy CASUAL, season 3 of DEADBEAT and the new six-episode event series THE X-FILES are just a few of the shows coming to CraveTV in April 2016. Here’s the rest of what is to come in the next month:

Friday, April 1

CASUAL – Season 1 – *PREMIERE* (Comedies/Dramas)
CASUAL follows the story of a bachelor brother and his divorced sister while they raise her teenage daughter together and support each other through the trials of the dating world.

ALL THINGS MUST PASS: THE RISE AND FALL OF TOWER RECORDS – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/Music)
Tower Records was once a retail powerhouse with two hundred stores, in thirty countries, on five continents. From humble beginnings in a small-town drugstore, Tower Records eventually became the heart and soul of the music world, and a powerful force in the music industry. In 1999, Tower Records made $1 billion. In 2006, the company filed for bankruptcy. Everyone thinks they know what killed Tower Records: the Internet. But that’s not the story. This feature documentary film examines this iconic company’s explosive trajectory, tragic demise, and legacy forged by its rebellious founder Russ Solomon. Directed by Colin Hanks (FARGO), features interviews with Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl, Elton John, Chuck D, and David Geffen.

KORAN BY HEART – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/HBO)
KORAN BY HEART follows three extraordinary ten-year-olds who have dedicated their lives to honoring their families, countries and culture through memorization of the religious text. The documentary is an engaging look at the unique experiences and aspirations of Muslim Children throughout the world.

S&M: SHORT AND MALE – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries)
Cultures around the world are obsessed with size: Women equate height with sex appeal. Society is stuck on the belief that tall people make the best leaders and that tall men deserve more money. With a touch of humor, S&M: SHORT AND MALE examines the obstacles that short statured men face every day in life, love, and work. Shot in the U.S., Canada, China, and Europe, the documentary speaks to men from all walks of life to unearth what makes some short men bigger than others.

LAUGHOLOGY – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries)
Laughter Yoga, Laughter Parties, “Laughercize” and other laughter oriented health trends have spawned a new approach to laughter. It involves using laughter to make people laugh instead of jokes. Simple laughter according to Laughology, may be helpful in reducing heart disease, fighting stress and increasing immunity. Laughology features “The Laughman,” Doug Collins, a Memphis, T.N. resident who is said to have the most contagious laugh in the world.

Sunday, April 3

10 p.m. – BILLIONS – Season 1, Episode 11
Axe (Damian Lewis, HOMELAND) loses hundreds of millions of dollars on a bad trading decision and turns to Wendy (Maggie Siff, SONS OF ANARCHY) for help. Chuck (Paul Giamatti, Cinderella Man) sets out on an odyssey to secure powerful allies in the fight against Axe. Lara (Malin Akerman, TROPHY WIFE) enlists Lou (Louisa Krause, Young Adult) to become the new chef at Axe Capital, but Lou balks at working for rich assholes and takes her sister back to the old neighborhood to remind her of their roots. Sacker (Condola Rashad, SMASH) and Connerty (Toby Leonard Moore, DAREDEVIL) close down the Axe Capital investigation and decide to do something risky. Chuck finds evidence – right in his own home – that could salvage the case.

Monday, April 4

MOTIVE – Season 4, Episode 3 (Crime & Mystery Collection/Dramas Collection/All-Canadian)
When Detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman, THE KILLING) and the team are called to investigate a death in a spa, what they find is more deadly than expected. Angie and Detective Brian Lucas (Brendan Penny, THE ASSISTANTS) are joined by new detective Paula Mazur (Karen LeBlanc, CRACKED), and the case takes a turn when Dr. Betty Rogers (Lauren Holly, NCIS) discovers the body is infected with a mysterious disease that forces her into quarantine.

SINATRA: ALL OR NOTHING AT ALL – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/Music/HBO)
An up-close and personal examination of the life, music, and career of the legendary entertainer. Told in his own words from hours of archived interviews, along with commentary from those closest to him, the documentary weaves the music and images from Sinatra’s life together with rarely-seen footage of Sinatra’s famous 1971 “Retirement Concert” in Los Angeles. The film’s narrative is shaped by Sinatra’s song choices for that concert, which director Alex Gibney (Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine) interprets as the singer’s personal guide through his own life.

ERIC CLAPTON: PLANES, TRAINS & ERIC – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/Music)
Eric Clapton is one of the most revered and influential guitarists of all time. From his early days with the Yardbirds, through John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek And The Dominos, and on to his solo career, he has had consistent critical and commercial success. This documentary follows Eric Clapton and his band on the Far and Middle Eastern leg of his 2014 World Tour. The film features 13 full-length performances from the tour intercut with interviews with Eric Clapton and the band members, rehearsal, and sound check footage, travel by trains and planes, and “fly on the wall” filming of all the many aspects of being on the road with Eric Clapton.

WHY? WITH HANNIBAL BURESS – Season 1 – *PREMIERE* (Stand-Up Comedy/Comedies)
Viewers get a glimpse into the offbeat mind of this laid-back comedian. Each episode tackles topical issues with sketches, man-on-the-street interviews, and special guests as well as stand-up in front of a studio audience. If it’s in the zeitgeist, Buress will dissect it – and he’ll finally get answers to all his burning questions.

GOLD RUSH – Season 3 – *PREMIERE* (Discovery/Reality TV)
It took two years, but the competing gold mining crews have made it to the big leagues. After battling equipment breakdowns, infighting, and Mother Nature, one of the mining teams finally hits pay dirt. With new equipment, new crews, and new land to explore, the teams set out strike gold and walk away millionaires.

BEING EVEL – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/Sports)
BEING EVEL tells not just the incredible story behind the myth of 1970s American daredevil icon and pioneer for today’s extreme sports scene Robert “Evel” Knievel, but also the previously untold and very much darker tale of the man behind the flamboyant cape; a one-time outlaw whose wildly dangerous career spanned 75 ramp-to-ramp motorbike jumps and saw him break every bone in his body.

Sunday, April 10

10 p.m. – BILLIONS – Season 1 Finale
Hall (Terry Kinney, BLACK BOX) informs Axe that Chuck has new evidence against him that could land him in prison. As Lara makes plans for the Axelrod family to flee the country, Axe accuses Wendy of leaking the info to Chuck. A defiant Wendy realizes how far Chuck has gone in his pursuit of Axe and threatens to expose him. With his marriage and career in peril, Chuck is forced to take actions that further his rift with Connerty. Having sacrificed so much to this case – including possibly his marriage – Chuck finds Axe for an explosive confrontation.

Monday, April 11

MOTIVE – Season 4, Episode 4(Crime & Mystery Collection/Dramas Collection/All-Canadian)
Detectives Angie Flynn and Paula Mazur have their personal boundaries tested when Angie notices Paula trying to ignore personal issues during their investigation of the murder of an ex-con who may have returned to a life of crime. Meanwhile, Staff Sergeant Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira, BREAKING BAD) and Dr. Betty Rogers attempt to have a seemingly normal morning until work snaps them back to reality. Detective Brian Lucas finds himself attracted to one of the witnesses in the case and must decide if he’s willing to cross a line.

DARK NET – Season 1 – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/SHOWTIME)
This eight-part docu-series explores the netherworld where virtual and physical lives collide in ways surprising, disturbing, and seemingly inevitable. In contrast to much of the mainstream media, DARK NET reveals a more ominous and disturbing perspective of a digitally connected world where every action is collected and stored. The series is developed and produced by Vocativ, a technology and media company that applies exclusive proprietary technology to search and monitor the deep web, the 80 percent of the internet that lies beyond the reach of regular search engines.

T.J. MILLER: NO REAL REASON – *PREMIERE* (Stand-Up Comedy/Comedies)
For viewers who like explosions of fun and a sense of danger at every moment, then T.J. Miller (SILLICON VALLEY) is the comic to watch. He touches on such topics as holding eye contact while puking, being a social outcast because of his wee-wee, and robot dancing.

LOOKING – Season 1 & 2 – *PREMIERE* (Comedies/Dramas/HBO)
The series revolves around three friends in San Francisco who explore the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men. Created by Michael Lannan and executive produced by Andrew Haigh (Weekend) and Sarah Condon (BORED TO DEATH), the show stars Jonathan Groff (GLEE), Frankie J. Alvarez (SMASH), and Murray Bartlett (August).

Monday, April 18

MOTIVE – Season 4, Episode 5(Crime & Mystery Collection/Dramas Collection/All-Canadian)
Detective Angie Flynn and the team are called to investigate a gruesome murder, but when the signature appears to be the same as a case Detective Paula Mazur previously investigated, it could mean an innocent woman was convicted of a crime she didn’t commit. While Angie and Paula investigate different leads, Staff Sergeant Oscar Vega must mediate without playing favourites while Detective Brian Lucas plays the diplomat trying to support both.

Wednesday, April 20

THE UP IN SMOKE TOUR – *PREMIERE* (Music)
The smoke hasn’t settled yet, but there can be no doubt that last summer’s Up In Smoke tour had the biggest fire of any touring music show. This Hip Hop All-Stars show features Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Eminem, Ice Cube, and other special guests in a program offering many surprises, from onstage to backstage to scenes from the road shot by the artists themselves on home video cameras.

DEADBEAT – Season 3 – *PREMIERE* (Sitcoms/Sci-Fi & Fantasy/Comedies)
DEADBEAT is a supernatural comedy series about a stoner and a medium-for-hire who work together to try to solve various unresolved issues of ghosts. Created by Cody Heller and Brett Konner, the series stars Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs. Evil) as a pot-smoking lazy bum, and Kevin Pacalioglu (HARRY AND HENDERSONS) as a part-time paranormal consultant who makes a living communicating with the dead, DEADBEAT is hilarious portrayal of two ordinary guys helping ghosts settle their unfinished business on earth.

PROPHET’S PREY – *PREMIERE* (Documentaries/SHOWTIME)
When Warren Jeffs rose to Prophet of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints, he took control of a religion with a history of polygamous and underage marriage. In a short time, Warren managed to expand these practices and the power of his position in unprecedented ways. He bridged the gap between sister wives and ecclesiastically rape, befuddling the moral compass of his entire congregation. The film examines Warren Jeffs’ life and shows how he became a worshipped and adored Prophet. Warren has a devout following numbering in the tens of thousands – many of whom would give their life at any moment with just one word from the Prophet. Despite a trail of abuse and ruined lives, Warren has maintained his grip on power.

THE X-FILES – Season 10 – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/Sci-Fi & Fantasy/Crime & Mystery)
An event series encompasses a mixture of stand-alone episodes and those that further the show’s seminal mythology. In the premiere episode, Mulder (David Duchovny, CALIFORNICATION ) and Scully (Gillian Anderson, THE FALL) take on a case of a possible alien abductee. Mitch Pileggi (CREDIT, DALLAS) returns as FBI Asst. Dir. Walter Skinner, Mulder and Scully’s boss, who walks a fine line between loyalty and accountability to his superiors.

Monday, April 25

MOTIVE – Season 4, Episode 6 (Crime & Mystery Collection/Dramas Collection/All-Canadian)
Detective Angie Flynn and the team investigate the murder of a suburban mom, but the case takes a drastic turn when they learn the victim’s ill child has been abducted. Angie and Detective Paula Mazur must race against the clock to find him. Meanwhile, Detective Brian Lucas coerces an informant to lie in order to bolster Dr. Betty Rogers’ case, and can’t bring himself to tell Staff Sergeant Vega.

Friday, April 29

KILLJOYS – Season 1 – *PREMIERE* (Dramas/Sci-Fi & Fantasy)
In a distant Galaxy, the people of the planet Qresh have colonized their three moons, creating four stratified worlds, each defined along socio-economic lines and rife with social unrest. In this planetary unit, known as the Quad, a highly regulated group of bounty hunters, Killjoys, are licensed to pursue a vast range of warrants throughout the galaxy. Killjoys must follow strict rules, and there are harsh consequences for veering from their mantra: “The Warrant is All”. Killjoys are not allowed to take a personal or political side in their mission, which proves to be impossible and near fatal for Dutch, a gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Killjoy at the top of her game. Her partner, John the Bastard, is a peacemaker who hates conflict.

THE COMEBACK – Season 1 & 2 – *PREMIERE* (Comedies/Sitcoms/HBO)
THE COMEBACK follows Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow, FRIENDS), fading TV “It Girl” and pioneer of reality television who was once so desperate to stay in the spotlight that she allowed cameras to follow her every move as she appeared on a new sitcom, with disastrous results. New episodes follow Valerie as she continues her search to attain the spotlight, which illuminates a whole new series of problems when she achieves the visibility she wants. Also stars Malin Ackerman (BILLIONS).

AMY SCHUMER: LIVE AT THE APOLLO – *PREMIERE* (Comedies/Stand-Up/HBO)
As one of the funniest and freshest faces on television and film, Amy Schumer is dominating the world of comedy today with her unique blend of honesty and an unapologetic sense of humour. Schumer’s provocative and hilariously wicked mind is on full display with headlined her first HBO stand-up comedy special: AMY SCHUMER: LIVE AT THE APOLLO. Directed by Chris Rock, the special was taped live before a sold-out crowd at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York City.
