After 8 weeks in a rehab hospital, Hodgins is ready to go home when BONES returns this week. He believes he’s felt tingling in his feet and has hope for a more complete recovery, but his doctor is cautious and wants him to take things slow.
Booth and Brennan, meanwhile, disagree on Hodgins’ overall situation. Booth is happy he’s being released and also has hope that Hodgins’ situation could improve, but Brennan is looking at the science of the situation and believes that Hodgins doesn’t have much hope of recovering his mobility.
The team is presented with a new case involving the death of a public defender and Hodgins asks to come back to work to help. Both Angela and Cam are cautious about him following his doctor’s orders, but Hodgins wants to continue to feel useful. And when he comes up against his limitiations in terms of going back in to the field, he still needs to help however he can.
