There’s been a debate since the end of season 5 of SUPERNATURAL as to what, exactly, Chuck Shurley is. He was first introduced as a prophet in season 4, but the season 5 finale, “Swan Song”, heavily implied that he might be God (with a capital “G”). That was the last time he was scene on the show, save for a brief appearance at the end of the 200th episode. But the debate as to whether Chuck really is God has raged for years. It appears that SUPERNATURAL is going to give fans a definitive answer to that question with Chuck’s reappearance. If he is God, then it’s a good time to come back, as the Winchesters will have their hands full trying to defeat his sister.
In an early May episode, Amara returns and unleashes a dark fog and a plague on a small town, which causes everyone to go mad. Sam and Dean realize this is just a stronger version of the original virus she released early in the season, so they team up with the sheriff to protect the town. Unfortunately, their old remedy no longer works. Enter Chuck? The CW says that Chuck (Rob Benedict) will return “with an interesting proposal”. Will he also spill the beans on his true nature?
