PERSON OF INTEREST Preview: Rough Reboot

It was a rough start to what CBS is now calling “the final chapter” of PERSON OF INTEREST last week. But how good it was to see Harold Finch, John Reese, Root, and Lionel Fusco back on our screens!

Finch and Reese struggled to slip past a dozen armed Samaritan agents to get the chips containing the remains of The Machine back to their headquarters to revive it. And Root was on her own in a similar battle against a legion of Samaritan agents, ending up calling on a Russian mafia kingpin and former client to get a new identity but then getting double crossed and nearly captured. Unable to help Finch revive The Machine, Reese went in search of Root and showed up in the nick of time to assist Root, and the two hijacked a slew of game consoles to help Finch decompress The Machine’s code after he nearly fried everything in an attempt to abort The Machine’s premature decompression on its own. Whew! Everything faded to black as The Machine came back to life, Finch, Reese, Root, and the rest of us holding our collective breath.

This week, CBS airs two episodes: one on Monday night and one on Tuesday night.

The bumpy ride continues Monday night as Finch reboots The Machine from compressed coded bits of its former self. Only, now revived a little messed up, The Machine experiences a glitch and sees Finch and Root as threats. Great — that’s all they need, with Samaritan still on their backs! This episode is titled, “Snafu.”

PERSON OF INTEREST also airs on Tuesday night, when it appears The Machine is back to issuing numbers. Its latest person of interest has ties to Reese’s old colleagues in the CIA, threatening to blow his cover in “Truth Be Told.”

Enjoy the clip below and tune in to two episodes of PERSON OF INTEREST this week: on May 9 and May 10 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
