PERSON OF INTEREST Sneak Peek: The End Is Near

There are only two episodes left of “the final chapter” of PERSON OF INTEREST and the story seems to be gelling toward the finale. Finch had an interesting talk with The Machine and finally set his mind on how to defeat Samaritan, then took action.

Last week, we watched as Reese and Fusco witnessed the burial of Root, her tombstone ironically reduced to a number, then met up with Shaw when the next person of interest was identified as the president of the United States. Then in Washington, D.C., the trio found themselves battling a subversive privacy advocacy group to eliminate a threat to the president’s life. But interestingly enough, former persons of interest whom Reese, Shaw, and Fusco had saved showed up with the assignment from The Machine to save Reese, Shaw, and Fusco. If this series weren’t ending after two more episodes, you might almost smell a spin off or sequel.

Meanwhile, Finch was driving long distance away from New York City on an undetermined mission. You might have thought initially that he was running away, but in his conversations with The Machine, done in the late Root’s voice, you found he had another plan in mind. The Machine asked Finch to turn her loose to defend herself against Samaritan, and Finch decided to finally do the thing he should have done all along. He set up in a major secure data center and uploaded coding, although for what wasn’t disclosed. Then The Machine set up his escape as chaos ensued.

This week on PERSON OF INTEREST, Finch enters a maximum-security government facility to proceed on his mission to end Samaritan, which is an effort that could also put The Machine and himself in danger. And Reese and Shaw find themselves on a mission to catch up with Finch before everything goes very, very badly.

See a sneak peek below and watch PERSON OF INTEREST on June 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).
