In the opening of NOTORIOUS we meet Julia George (played by Piper Perabo), the executive producer of “Louise Herrick Live” (LHL), the number one TV news program in the country. She spends her days corraling her boss (whose behind the scene antics tend to lead to trouble) and shaping the news. Meanwhile, Jake Gregorian (played by Daniel Sunjata) is a famed defense attorney who enjoys going head-to-head with other lawyers in the courtroom.
Unbeknownst to quite a few people, Julia and Jake have an arrangement: she’ll help him put his clients on TV and give them a platform and in exchange he’ll give her scoops to the latest news. But their relationship is built on both of them never lying to one another (even if they’re lying to everyone else) and it looks like one of them might be lying in the new preview below.
Jake and Julia’s relationship is inspired by the real-life friendship between famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and award-winning cable newsproducer Wendy Walker.
NOTORIOUS premieres on Thursday, September 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).
