And just like that, hiatus is over for CHICAGO MED and it seems like the series will be kicking off its sophomore season with a complicated case hitting the ER as everyone adjusts to their own respective new realities.
The ER team are faced with a pregnant woman involved in a high speed collision that turns out to be more complicated than they anticipated when they find something wrong with her heart. Dr. Rhodes, whose start to his cardiothoracic fellowship with Dr. Latham is less than ideal, offers Dr. Manning a recommendation on how to save the woman but she doesn’t seem to be completely on board with the level of risk to the unborn baby.
Elsewhere on CHICAGO MED, Dr. Choi is adjusting to life as the new chief resident and is finding the road a bit tough to navigate as Dr. Charles offers Reese an opportunity that catches her by surprise.
Meanwhile, a pair of Med employees are learning to live with the surprises dropped on them in the season finale as April deals with the diagnosis she received and Goodwin learns how to continue working and living life now that Bert is gone.
CHICAGO MED begins its second season tonight (September 22) at 9:00 p.m. on NBC.
