CONVICTION Sneak Peek: The Blackmail of Hayes Morrison

The catalyst for the entire premise of ABC’s newest procedural drama, CONVICTION, is the blackmail of former first-daughter Hayes Morrison. When District Attorney Conner Wallace finds Hayes arrested for cocaine possession, he strikes a deal where Hayes can escape prison by working for his new Conviction Integrity Unit.

This shady political agreement might mean a new start for Hayes (and a continued clean family record for her mother, who is running for the Senate) but it may not all be in the past. As we see in the sneak peek below, Sam Spencer seems to have a journalist hot on his tail for this juicy political scoop. Now, because Hayes boldly announced her little skirmish with the law to her entire team, all of them now know her secret. It seems for the moment that Sam is resisting the urge to snitch and become the journalist’s source for the latest Hayes Morrison scandal, despite the fact that it will mean getting himself a promotion to leader of the CIU.

It also seems that Hayes will get a visit from her high-profile mother at work. But, is the visit propaganda for the campaign or general interest in her daughter’s life?

Catch and all new CONVICTION tonight (October 10) at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).
