This week’s CHICAGO MED has some of the doctors dealing with a rare infection, as well as an introduction of Dr. Charles’ daughter to the hospital.
Dr. Manning discovers that her young cancer patient has an antibiotic-resistant superbug and consults with Dr. Halstead. She soon finds out that her patient isn’t the only one that has contracted it. In comes Dr. Charles’ daughter, Robyn, who is the newest member of the hospital’s epidemiology department. She gets put on the case to try to find out what these patients have in common.
Elsewhere on CHICAGO MED, Dr. Choi and Dr. Rhode are put on the case of an elderly man who is very ill. When they try to begin treatment, they are met with a challenge in the form of the man’s son and girlfriend who don’t see eye-to-eye on the best course of treatment.
Meanwhile, Reese continues her work in psychiatry as she tries to help a young patient who is a drug addict.
