NCIS: NEW ORLEANS Sneak Peek: The Many Layers of Lund

A show that has been dedicated to character development during its run, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS continues that trend tonight as it peels back some of the layers of Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich).

A character that started out similar to a “male Abby Sciuto” from NCIS, Sebastian has grown into his own as his particular quirks have come to the foreground.

Tonight, we get a deeper insight into the forensic scientist’s life and a better understanding of why he is who he is.

When a couple fakes an emergency, the overly-trusting Sebastian stops to help and is abducted and imprisoned by the pair. He has been targeted by the kidnappers who want to exploit his gaming skills to assist them in breaking an associate out of prison.

Will the mild-mannered Lund be able to free himself, and will the audience learn why this extremely intelligent man with a good heart suffers from social awkwardness and insecurity?

During the investigation, Christopher (Lucas Black) gains poignant insight into Sebastian’s attempts to bond with the team, while Patton (Daryl “Chill” Mitchell) seems to know his verbal sparring partner better than anyone since Brody.

Some of Sebastian’s quirkiness stems from growing up with his eccentric mother, portrayed by guest star Wendie Malick. Has her off-kilter personality been a factor in her son’s struggle to fit in better with the NCIS: NEW ORLEANS team…the same team that will go to any lengths to save their associate and friend.

Watch for some emotional moments as the show delves into this complex and thoughtful character.

“Escape Plan” was written by David Appelbaum and directed by James Whitmore, Jr.
