“Reeves. Clayton Reeves.” Yes, the “James Bond factor” has returned to NCIS in the form of MI-6 officer, Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry), who was introduced at the end of last season.
Henry, the new series regular, completes the rearranged bullpen tonight when a missing MI-6 Officer is linked to the murder of a petty officer.
Gibbs (Mark Harmon) sends Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) and Bishop (Emily Wickersham) to Philadelphia to work with Reeves, and the Brit gets a chance to show off his Holmes-ian skills.
Tracing an influx of Russian rocket launchers into the States via the UK will take the efforts of British Intelligence and U.S. federal agents to ensure that the weapons are intercepted before the transfer can be completed.
The addition of Henry to the cast will fill the “Brit quota” for the team in the wake of the announcement that David McCallum (Ducky) reportedly will be retiring from the show this season due to his health and age.
(And on an opinionated note from this writer…Please, TV Academy, give this man an Emmy nomination. McCallum turned 83 last month and still goes out to shoot on location. He has been gracing our airwaves for over 60 years, can deliver a line like most actors only can aspire to do, and is a shining example of a work ethic that few of us ever reach.)
How this new team will settle out remains to be seen, but that journey continues tonight as the case takes the NCIS agents to a town near Philly, where more will be revealed about the painful incident that caused Quinn to leave field work.
While Bishop and Quinn look like a potential “girl power” team, Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and McGee (Sean Murray) could hit a “buddy movie” vibe. Also, Torres must have been undercover for too many years when he needs advice on women from the thrice-divorced Gibbs. Look for some good laughs with that aspect.
NCIS also stars Pauley Perrette, Brian Dietzen and Rocky Carroll. Guest star Tony Gonzalez, former NFL player and studio analyst for “The NFL Today” returns as Special Agent Tony Francis.
Other guest stars in tonight’s episode, “Philly,” are Henry Wells Nixon, Dennis Apergis, Lou DiMaggio, Dalila Ali Rajah, Glenn Keogh, Michael Felix and Stephanie Y. Wang.
