CONVICTION Sneak Peek: Becoming the Poster Child for Regret

After last week’s drama-filled episode of CONVICTION ended with the very public revelation about Hayes getting caught with drugs and her subsequent cover-up employment at the CIU, its time to play damage control. But it’s not quite as simple as calling a friend at the New Yorker this time.

In the clip released below, we see that Wallace has set up a TV interview with what Hayes calls “the firing squad.” Apologizing and being the “poster child for regret” on national TV requires some preparation, which is where Hayes’ handler/dance-partner/big brother comes in! He has a “black-belt in Hayes Handling” and we get to see Hayes and her brother discussing a shared childhood as First Children, but also get an insight into the differences between them. Hayes was paraded around in the press as a prop for her parents’ agenda, while her brother was — self-proclaimed — “too fat and effeminate” to be used in the same way.

This childhood trauma has clearly had an effect on Hayes and her way of interacting with those around her, but one person who she seems to have a special connection with is Wallace. We will definitely have to see how they deal with the impromptu hook-up they had (which was then interrupted) last week. Wallace is disappointed they got cut short, but Hayes informs him it was probably for the best.

Be sure to check out the growing tension between these two in a new episode of CONVICTION tonight (October 24) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC (U.S.) and CTV (Canada).
