MADAM SECRETARY Sneak Peek: A Crisis in Angola

A bombing at a political rally in Angola creates problems for Elizabeth in this week’s MADAM SECRETARY.

As a bombing rocks the country before an election, Elizabeth wants to exact some sanctions against the country and its autocratic leader, especially when the Bureau of African Affairs criticizes the Dalton Administration’s lack of attention to the election. But Russell is firmly against the kind of action Elizabeth wants to take, saying that it will hurt Dalton’s election chances at home.

Meanwhile, when Dalton is pulled off the campaign trail Russell recruits Elizabeth to step in and help. Ohio, for example, has a “sore loser” law, prohibiting Dalton from getting on the ballot there after losing in the primaries. Russell is desperate to find a way around this loophole in order to get Dalton re-elected and has Elizabeth appear on an NFL show to generate some goodwill.

Finally, Henry and Jose are still on the trail of Hizb al-Shahid and the antiquities stolen by the terrorist group.

Don’t miss an all new episode of MADAM SECRETARY tonight (October 20) at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS (U.S.) and Global (Canada).
