STAR is wracking up quite the musical pedigree. The new midseason Fox drama has booked singer Gladys Knight for a guest appearance.
Knight will be playing herself, Alexandra’s (Ryan Destiny) music idol, and also the aunt of Danielle, who works in Carlotta’s (Queen Latifah) salon. When Danielle arranges for Ms. Knight to introduce the girls at the Taylor Brothers Hair Show, the girls are honored beyond belief.
Featuring a soundtrack of original music, STAR is “an emotional drama that follows three talented, young singers – desperate for a new start and with ambitions of stardom – as they navigate the cut-throat music business.”
A special premiere of STAR will air Wednesday, December 14 at 9/8c following EMPIRE’s fall finale on FOX.
