On this week’s CHICAGO FIRE, the real life consequences of what the brave men and women of 51 do for a living are played out. When a home goes up in flames, it is up to Matt and his team to save a husband and wife trapped inside.
When they attempt a rescue for the man, he is aggressively trying to get out of the firefighters’ grip and farther into the fire to save his wife. Even when they get him out, he makes Matt promise that they will save his wife still trapped in the flames. While the husband gets oxygen from Dawson, the team strides up the ladder to rescue the woman who they hear screaming from the window.
Unfortunately, from the description released for this week’s CHICAGO FIRE, we know that the wife is not rescued in time, and the whole team must deal with the fallout of the decisions they made in the moment.
