SUPERGIRL Sneak Peek: It’s A Bird! It’s A Plane! It’s A Crossover!!!

The CW gets even more epic this week with the touted 4-night crossover that coincides with ARROW’s 100th episode on Wednesday.

SUPERGIRL kicks off the event tonight which will see heroes and aliens face off and a few dead people showing up in the Flarrowverse. Whether this is an alternate timeline, a timeline reset resulting from a LEGENDS OF TOMORROW timejump or another reality-altering event remains to be seen.

Supergirl joins THE FLASH, ARROW and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW to fight an old Justice League foe, The Dominators. Bringing the four teams together will rival the Justice League in size and epic scope.

Since 1967, the alien race from the outer cosmos has traveled throughout time in DC Comics to wreak havoc on Earth and other worlds from the 20th century through the 31st. One of their targets is the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th century, the team that Mon-El (Chris Wood) is destined to join in the future.

The evil aliens often have Mengele-like proclivities and have touched the lives of many characters shared by the Flarrowverse and DC Comics, including Snapper Carr and Maxwell Lord.

The Dominators often tend to be interested in how the metagene of metahumans work, which should land them the motherload during the 4-night crossover.

ARROW/LEGENDS OF TOMORROW executive producer Marc Guggenheim states that “cutting-edge prosthetics and computer effects” are used for the Dominators “to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters.” (Comic book art above.)

But before this week’s big bad barrels onto the scene, SUPERGIRL must face problems a little closer to home. Eliza (Helen Slater) comes to town to spend Thanksgiving with Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh), Mon-El, James (Mehcad Brooks) and Winn (Jeremy Jordan).

The holiday is rife with secrets. James and Winn must decide if they want to tell Kara that James is also The Guardian.

Alex considers telling her mother that she is gay and possibly headed toward a relationship with National City Police Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima).

Kara must decide who she tells that she saw Jeremiah (Dean Cain) alive and imprisoned at CADMUS.

Will the folks at CADMUS be carving turkey with their families? Unlikely. Lillian Luthor’s (Brenda Strong) bad guy team has been cooking up another dish for the holidays…a virus that instantly kills any alien in the vicinity.

Given the potential repercussions to Mon-El, J’onn (David Harewood), herself and others, Kara enlists an unexpected ally, Lillian’s daughter, Lena (Katie McGrath) to fight the evil consortium.

Also on the canvas tonight are Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) from THE FLASH who come to SUPERGIRL’s earth to seek help from the Dominator invasion on their world.

Will the breach of the space-time continuum the reason that Laurel Lance is seen in the photo gallery (below) wearing a wedding dress? Or is something in the past altered when the Legends go back in time to face The Dominators?

Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Jessica Queller & Derek Simon.
