THIS IS US is once again taking us back to a time before the babies were born when the show returns from its winter hiatus this week. In the episode, back in the 1970s, Jack and Rebecca are searching for a new apartment to welcome their new baby. At this point they have no idea that they’re not just preparing for one baby — they’re preparing for *three*. Once they get the news that they’re expecting triplets they need to figure out how to afford a home that will accommodate all three babies. In the clip below you’ll also get a peek at a beloved doctor who technically crosses paths with the family long before the babies are born.
Meanwhile, in the present day, there’s no real indication of the outcome of Toby’s heart attack, but NBC hints that “Kate struggles with her feelings in the aftermath.” Sloane and Kevin also seem very happy, but their budding relationship is thrown for a loop when Olivia unexpectedly resurfaces. And Randall has to get used to his father’s new relationship, but his overture to get to know Jesse turns awkward.
