24: LEGACY Preview: Introducing a New Threat and a New Hero

You don’t need to have watched 24 to get into 24: LEGACY, although fans of the original will find the same fast-paced action in the new show.

This time around the producers wanted to “play off the idea of people who are here and have been radicalized”, making it a more contemporary threat. Eric Carter has returned from war after having led the squad that killed an infamous terrorist. But like many soldiers once they return stateside, Eric is having trouble adjusting to a life without war. And after the mission, all of the soldiers are living under new identities to protect them from retaliation by the terrorist’s followers.

When 24: LEGACY begins, the soliders have been found out and can’t hide any longer. As his squad is dying one-by-one, Eric realizes that he and his family are next. Rebecca Ingram, the former head of CTU, is called to help deal with the problem as she masterminded the original kill mission. Complicating matters, however, is the fact that Rebecca is the wife of a politican who is running for President.

24: LEGACY premieres on Sunday, February 5 after the Superbowl.
